BULGARIAN HYDROGEN, FUEL CELL AND ENERGY STORAGE ASSOCIATION (BGH2A)

Founded

The BGH2A is a newly founded (2017) national association which promotes the hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in Bulgaria and in the region and provides a network for hydrogen and fuel cell research, development and demonstration projects. H2BG has the ambition to advocate towards the national and regional policy makers for unlocking the potential of the technologies. Through wide dissemination of good practices BGH2A aims to achieve a better understanding of the hydrogen and fuel cell applications and the rules and procedures for their deployment.

Main objectives

To consult and support the formation of policies at local, national and international level for sustainable energy development, energy efficiency, penetration of fuel cell and hydrogen technologies in transport and energy storage, environmental protection, and low carbon mobility, and thus to contribute to the increase of country’s energy independence; to work towards the development and recognition of science, innovation and technologies in these fields;

To participate in the application of the above mentioned policies by legislative initiatives, transfer of know-how and good practices, scientific research, methodological assistance, etc.

To increase institutional competence and public awareness in the field of energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources and fuel cell and hydrogen technologies in transport and energy as well as energy storage, environmental protection and sustainable mobility;

To encourage and assist the development of the market for energy efficient fuel cell and hydrogen technologies in transport and energy and energy storage;

To work jointly with other institutions at local, national and European level upon the implementation of projects for sustainable energy development, use of renewable and alternative energy sources, fuel cell and hydrogen technologies in transport and energy and energy storage, environmental protection, sustainable types of transport as well as development and recognition of science, innovations and technologies in these fields;

To explore and propose for application schemes for financing of energy efficiency projects, fuel cell and hydrogen technologies in transport and energy and energy storage, ecomobility, environmental protection and thus to realize interrelations between the competent state authorities, financial institutions, industry-wide organizations, representatives of the business and small and medium-sized enterprises
